Welcome to the School year
Good Afternoon Families: We are thrilled to note that our school year has started off very well. Transitions are well on their way and everyone seems to be settling into their new routines. A few tears along the way and drop off times can still be a challenge, however for the most part all is going smoothly. A few little reminders: Please stick to your contracted hours-this is critical to ensure we are always in ratio as we staff in accordance to each child’s contracted hours. If you need to alter your hours please reach out to the office. Tuition is due each Monday for weekly paying families, and the second Tuesday of the month for anyone paying quarterly or monthly. Please pay on time to avoid late fees. Please ensure all packets are returned by the end of this week. This includes immunization forms, medical records and all required documents.
Outside Time
It is our goal to ensure that each child gets to spend ample time outside via walks on the bike path, time in the playgrounds and even exploring the world around us. We are so fortunate to be located where we are and have access to so much nature. If you ever have any suggestions on activities or field trips outside, please do let your teachers know as we would love to incorporate those into our program. Kendra Atlak has created our amazingly popular outdoor adventure program. Kendra is our Morrisville After School Director and during the day she alternates classrooms and takes the group on adventures outside. She teachers the students and the teachers various ways to enjoy the outdoors without the use of our playgrounds. We have backpacks for each student and she can be found loading items that are appropriate for the various ages and creating a variety of activities for your students. We are going to be adding more teachers to the outdoor adventure programs that way classrooms can continue to have an adventure at least one every two weeks. Please ensure your child always has weather appropriate gear as we do try to get out in most weather conditions. Please label all your child’s gear. It’s also critical to have extra cloths in your child’s cubby as we an not say they will never get dirty or wet and need a change when we come inside:-) Thank you. Please do not send them in anything you care deeply about, as between eating, painting, and mud and dirt it’s likely to be stained. Thank you in advance.
Music Class
Each week Miss Andrea comes for a few hours and holds music class for each of the programs. Each group receives a time slot every other week. This is a wonderful program that helps children learn many aspects of music. movement and rhythm and the children always enjoy dancing, singing and even playing the various instruments Miss Andrea provides.
After School Programing
Our after school programs are located in Stowe and Morrisville. We have 4 licenses and 3 of them are offsite. One is at the Stowe Elementary School, One is at the Morrisville Elementary School and the last one is at the Graded Building in Morrisville in front of the community playground. Our after school programs are primarily based outside. Please ensure your children have all the gear needed to spend their time outside. Our thoughts are they are inside all day working hard, and after school they should get fresh air, play, imagine, run around and explore. They have various organized options for your students to make choices in what they engage in and they can rotate activities as needed. Important Dates:
Harvest Social: September 26th from 3-430 We are closed Friday October 24th for a professional development day. This day is noted on our school calendar and tuition is due if this is your child’s contracted days. Photo day is Oct ber 2nd (Thursday) We will start with group photos at 830, so if you plan to have your child in the group photo please plan to arrive and go to your child’s classroom by 830 am. We will not wait for children to arrive to take this image, as you can imagine children do not wait well and some of our classes are very large and it’s not reasonable to expect them to wait. We will also not do retakes of group images. After group photos we will move into families who are not normally here on this day and have them get a photo done. We will then start with infants and work our way up classrooms based on age groups. Parents do not need to stay for photos if it is your child’s contracted day. We do this each year and most children corporate and do well with the teachers. We work hard to get them to smile and have a good school photo for their parents. We can do sibling photos as well, you will need to fill out a seperate form for this and make sure you let the teachers know ahead of time.
Our Garden Program
Apple Tree has been beyond blessed to welcome Miss Rachel this spring and summer to re design our Garden and create a Garden program for our school and your students. This has been a wonderful addition to our school and we are so grateful for this opportunity. Rachel already has plans going into next year and how she can continue to grow this program and teach your children all about gardening helping them to appreciate where some foods grow and how to harvest and so much more. We are going to have tours of our new garden with Rachel during our yearly harvest social. We hope you stop by to take a look.
After School Vacation Camp Days
For those of you with school aged children, please be sure to register for some of our amazing off site field trips. We take the children to a variety of locations, hiking trips, museums, and so much more. All registrations are online through our website. Staffing updates:
We are currently seeking 2 After School Teachers. If you are aware of anyone looking for a teaching position after school, 245-6pm please have them send their resume to nicole@appletreelc.com Shalee is no longer working for Apple Tree. While she only worked for us for a short time as a substitute we will greatly miss her and wish her all the best. It is with great sadness that we announce Sparrow will be leaving their position as an After School Teacher. We have enjoyed getting to know Sparrow and truly do wish them all the best. So many of our teachers have started college classes this semester. We are so very proud of our teachers for pushing forward and being willing to work full time and still take on the added work of continued education. We are very proud of our teachers and know they will all do amazingly well. The following are currently enrolled in college courses to continue their education: Kristin , Allie, Ariel, Ashelyn, Kelcie, Nicole, Kacey, Mariya, Emory, and Brittany. We have many more looking into various programs to continue education and or get their teaching license. Way to go everyone!
